Even the smallest acts of help can change the world.

For GoFundMe’s Year In Help campaign, we set out to capture the true power of community, to thank donors, spark emotion, and stand out from the sea of typical year-end recaps.

The year was 2022- and with generative AI art breaking into the mainstream, we saw a chance to bring each individual donor to life in a way that felt both personal and beautifully scalable. The result: the first-ever commercial spot made entirely with AI tools, turning countless acts of kindness into one powerful, collective portrait.

Inspired by the rich, diverse aesthetics of public murals found in neighborhoods across America, we used AI to weave a single, universal visual language, bringing real GoFundMe stories from the year to life.

We took it even further by transforming the mural into an emotive film. It begins on a real street, shot in live action, then transitions through a half-painted wall as the static mural comes alive. Every frame was crafted with a unique blend of AI technologies, evolving moment by moment to show how each donation helps transform the world for the better.

Behind The Scenes

The response.

The project sparked an overwhelmingly positive reaction from both the public and the press. We were honored to dive deeper into the work on Adweek’s Adnatomy and even share the story firsthand during a live panel discussion at Cannes. A powerful testament to creativity, community, and what’s possible when art and technology come together.
